Hundreds of Residents Report Mysterious Ear-Piercing Bass Sound in Oak Park, Chicago

OAK PARK, IL – The Oak Park Police Department and West Suburban Consolidated Dispatch Center received hundreds of complaints of excessively loud music throughout the community late Thursday night. 

According to police, calls began around 11:55 p.m. on April 27 and continued for about two hours before slowing down around 1 a.m. 

Residents described the source of the complaint, described as a drumming bass sound, was not located but investigations continue. 

Chicago Police Department also received similar complaints along Augusta Blvd. Residents in the affected areas, ranging from the 900 block of N. Ridgeland to Jackson Blvd. and Wesley Ave., are advised to report any further disturbances.
