Palos Park, IL – The Palos Park Police Department has issued a scam alert involving fraudulent jury duty calls.

According to the department’s Facebook post, scammers are contacting victims, falsely claiming they have missed jury duty and must pay a fine to avoid arrest. The scammers manipulate caller ID systems to appear credible and are asking for payment via prepaid cards or over the phone, practices not used by legitimate court systems.

Residents are reminded that authentic jury duty summons are mailed, and no court official will demand payment over the phone or request gift card numbers to settle any court-related matter.
