Illinois and Tennessee Among 14 States Affected by Cucumber Recall Due to Salmonella Concerns

Chicago, IL – Fresh Start Produce Sales Inc. of Delray, Florida, is recalling whole cucumbers shipped to 14 states, including Illinois and Tennessee, over potential Salmonella contamination.

According to the FDA, the recall was initiated after the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture found Salmonella in a product sample. The cucumbers were distributed between May 17 and May 21, 2024, to retail centers, wholesalers, and food service distributors in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.
