Grant Park, Illinois – In an effort to ensure the safety of children, the Grant Park Police Department has raised concerns regarding child restraints for golf carts and utility task vehicles (UTVs).

The department is empowered to uphold the Illinois Vehicle Code in relation to these vehicles, emphasizing the importance of voluntary compliance to safeguard the well-being of youngsters.

Starting next year, the regulations surrounding child restraints will be prominently featured on registration sheets. In the interim, authorities are urging vehicle owners to take proactive measures by installing seatbelts and child restraints.

Stricter enforcement measures will be in place for those who do not adhere to these guidelines. Violators will face severe consequences, including impoundment of vehicles, fines, and potential suspension of future vehicle usage within the village.
