DeKalb, IL – The DeKalb community has rallied to amass over $230,000 through a GoFundMe campaign for the children of Christina M Musil, a respected deputy and Army veteran who died tragically in the line of duty. The fund, with a target of $500,000, is a testament to her impactful life, aimed at ensuring her children’s future needs are met.

Known affectionately as “Beana,” Deputy Musil’s life was marked by her commitment to service, both in law enforcement and the military. The community’s contributions speak volumes about her legacy, offering support to her children who face a future without their mother. The campaign underscores the communal spirit, bolstering the family with financial support for the children’s education and welfare.

Plans for a memorial service at the NIU Campus are underway to honor her memory. Those wishing to offer support can donate here: GoFundMe link. Each donation is a step towards sustaining Deputy Musil’s legacy of service and nurturing her most precious legacy—her children.
