KANE COUNTY – A horrifying accident unfolded Saturday at the intersection of US Route 30 and Davis Road claiming the lives of an Elburn couple and another local resident.
According to the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, it happened at 9:28 p.m. when an accident involving a gray Honda Civic, driven by 55-year-old Jaime Bibiano from Waterman, traveling westbound on US Route 30 from Davis Road reportedly attempted to pass another vehicle within a designated no-passing zone, Bibiano tragically collided head-on with a blue 2002 Harley Davidson Motorcycle.
The motorcycle was operated by Scott Luczynski, 56, of Elburn, who had his life partner, Kathleen Luczynski, 58, as a passenger. This devastating collision led to heart-wrenching consequences for all involved. Kathleen Luczynski was found lifeless at the scene at 10:06 PM, while Jaime Bibiano and Scott Luczynski succumbed to their injuries shortly afterward.
Scott Luczynski was rushed to Mercy Hospital in Aurora, but despite the valiant efforts of medical personnel, he was pronounced deceased at 10:19 PM. The Kane County Sheriff’s Department is actively investigating the incident, and at this point, it remains uncertain whether drugs or alcohol played a role in this tragic event.
An investigation is ongoing at this time.
