BOURBONNAIS, IL – Two suspects made off with an eye-catching 2021 Can Am Maverick Turbo R swiped from a Bourbonnais resident’s home just after 1 am Saturday.
According to the resident, the stolen vehicle boasts a Rockford & Fosgate LED sound system with a matching subwoofer on the right passenger seat, aftermarket tires, and plastic guards on the control arms, making it virtually impossible to miss.
A nearby neighbor captured the incident on a Ring camera nearby showcasing two individuals pushing the stolen ATV down Edwin Drive after swiping it from a home in the 800 block of Heather Drive in the dead of night, making a hasty escape towards an unknown destination.
The owner took to the Neighbors App to sound the alarm, urging anyone with information to notify the Bourbonnais police. They described their beloved ATV’s distinct features, including a Chuck doll on the back, which might have been removed by the culprits.
Despite the theft being caught on camera, no suspects have been charged in the case as of yet, leaving the owner distraught and the community on high alert. The stolen vehicle holds an estimated value of $55,000.
Bourbonnais police have launched an intensive investigation into the theft, urging anyone with information to come forward and aid in resolving this audacious crime. In a glimmer of hope for the owner, Bourbonnais Police were able to recover a stolen dirt bike, valued at $8,500, taken during the same heist.
