TAYLORVILLE, Illinois – In a case that’s strikingly Grinch-like, Taylorville Police are on a vigilant search for three suspects involved in the theft and destruction of a Christmas tree from the city square. This unexpected incident occurred overnight between November 28 and 29, leaving the community in dismay.

In their efforts to track down the culprits, the police have released images of a suspect vehicle, identified as a maroon or red Buick. The suspects are described as follows: The driver, a white female with dark hair, average height and build, wearing a light-colored sweatshirt. The passenger, of average height and build, with unspecified gender. The third suspect, in the backseat, is a white female with a heavy build and dark hair, wearing a purple sweatshirt.

Taylorville Police are appealing to the public for assistance. Anyone with information about the vehicle or the suspects is encouraged to contact the Taylorville Police Department at 217-824-2211, send a message on Facebook, or reach out to Christian County Crime Stoppers. Authorities assure that those providing tips can remain anonymous in their efforts to restore holiday cheer to the community.
