Chicago, IL – Two hospitals in Illinois have garnered national recognition, securing their spots on U.S. News & World Report’s prestigious “Best Hospitals” list. The renowned Rush University Medical Center and Northwestern Memorial Hospital have made the cut, showcasing their excellence in medical and surgical specialties.
The annual evaluation involved a comprehensive analysis of over 5,000 hospitals across the country, spanning more than 30 medical and surgical areas, and taking into account millions of hospital visits and admissions. Among the sea of healthcare institutions, only 164 hospitals were recognized in at least one of the specialties.
Notably, U.S. News also released its “Best Hospitals Honor Roll 2023-2024,” spotlighting the top 22 hospitals in the nation. Leading the pack were distinguished medical centers like Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and University of Michigan Health-Ann Arbor.
In addition to the overall rankings, U.S. News acknowledged hospitals for their expertise in specific procedures and conditions. For rehabilitation services, the top spot went to Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, located right here in Chicago, IL.
