Uttica, IL – An enlightening journey into prehistoric times awaits at Starved Rock State Park, featuring a presentation on Ice Age mammals by Dr. Melissa Pardi from the Illinois State Museum. Scheduled for April 7 at 1 p.m., this event promises a fascinating look at megafauna such as Jefferson’s ground sloth and the wooly mammoth.

According to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, the presentation is part of a series of educational programs offered by the park, emphasizing Illinois’ rich natural history. Further details about the event and additional park activities can be found on the Illinois DNR website.

The event is free, but the park encourages donations to the Starved Rock Foundation, which supports these programs.
