Illinois-Indiana Face Tornado Watch: Urgent Weather Alert Issued

Chicago, IL – The National Weather Service has issued Tornado Watch 25, effective until 10 PM CST this evening for numerous counties across Illinois and Indiana, signaling a severe weather alert for residents.

The watch encompasses 18 counties in Illinois, including areas in central, east central, north central, and northeast regions such as Livingston, Ford, Iroquois, Boone, DeKalb, La Salle, Lee, Ogle, Winnebago, Cook, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, and Will. Additionally, five counties in northwest Indiana are under watch, including Benton, Jasper, Lake, Newton, and Porter.

This weather advisory includes major cities like Chicago, Aurora, Joliet, Naperville, Schaumburg, and Waukegan in Illinois, as well as Gary, Hammond, and Valparaiso in Indiana, among others. Residents in these areas are advised to stay informed on the latest weather updates and prepare for possible severe conditions. The National Weather Service urges the public to take necessary precautions and stay vigilant during this time.
