Carol Stream, IL – A domestic dispute in Carol Stream escalated into a fatal shooting early Saturday morning. The incident unfolded at the Village Brook Apartments on E. St. Charles Road, with police responding around 4:15 a.m.
The confrontation led to the death of a man involved in the dispute. His identity remains undisclosed pending family notification. According to the Carol Stream Police Department, there were no injuries among the officers, and the situation poses no further threat to the public.
An independent investigation has been initiated, led by the DuPage Metropolitan Emergency Response and Investigative Team (MERIT) Task Force’s Public Integrity Team. This includes reviewing Body Worn Camera footage from the officers involved.
