AURORA, IL — Tension mounted in Aurora today as all branches of the Aurora Public Library District were swiftly evacuated following a bomb and active shooter threat made online at 11:17 AM.

Quick action by Aurora Police, assisted by the Kane County Sheriff’s Office and Fox Valley Park District Police Department, found the threats baseless after thorough searches. The Eola, Santori, and West branches were declared safe within hours.

The scare echoes similar unfounded threats made against these branches just days ago, as well as recent evacuations in Schaumburg and Addison libraries. While it seems another hoax, Aurora Police are urging anyone with information to come forward, reminding the public of the potential $5,000 reward from Crime Stoppers for valuable leads.
