EFFINGHAM, Ill. — The power of a community’s collective eyes and ears became evident Thursday, as an Arkansas father was arrested in Effingham for his association with the mysterious disappearance of his four children ranging in ages 5-10.

The Effingham Police Department revealed in a recent social media post that 44-year-old Christopher Gill’s SUV, notoriously linked to the missing kids, was seen in the town the day prior. The community swiftly rallied to the call, sharing updates and potential sightings.

Christopher Gill’s arrest, announced Thursday evening, underscored the efficacy of a vigilant community working in tandem with local law enforcement. Effingham Police extended their gratitude for the town’s proactive approach in aiding the investigation.
