Franklin Grove, IL – On Monday, January 15, a Union Pacific Railroad train collided with a tractor-trailer in Franklin Grove, Illinois, leading to an unusual spill of Hamburger Helper products.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office reported that the accident happened around 3:05 p.m. at the crossing of Willow Road and Track Road. Carlos Rivera Rodriguez, 35, the driver of the Olvera Freight tractor-trailer, narrowly escaped injury by exiting the vehicle before impact. The truck, which had just left Crest Foods, became stuck on the tracks due to snowy weather conditions. Rodriguez was transported to KSB Hospital for minor injuries.

Cleanup operations conducted by Dabney Services extended for several hours, causing delays in the area.
