Chicago, IL – Severe winter weather is causing significant disruptions in Amtrak services across Illinois, with multiple routes experiencing cancellations today, January 16.
The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced the suspension of several trains due to the extreme cold temperatures affecting the state. According to the Illinois Department of Transportation, the following state-supported Amtrak trains are canceled for the day:
- Lincoln Service (Chicago to St. Louis): Trains 300, 301, 302, 305, 306, 307, 318
- Saluki Service (Chicago to Carbondale): Trains 390, 393
- Carl Sandburg Service (Chicago to Quincy): Trains 381, 382
- Hiawatha Service (Chicago to Milwaukee): Trains 329, 332, 336, 337, 340, 341
