Indiana Deer Incident Leads to Drug Bust: Man Arrested After Crashing Camaro on US 31

Henryville, IN – A Scottsburg man, Nathan Baldwin, 35, was arrested in Henryville after crashing his Camaro on U.S. 31 near Brownstown Road early Wednesday, March 6, 2024. 

According to Indiana State Police, responding to the crash, officers discovered Baldwin attempting to conceal a backpack in the woods. The investigation, led by Trooper Taylor Wolfe, indicated Baldwin swerved to avoid deer on the wet roadway, causing his vehicle to leave the road and overturn. The search resulted in the finding of a backpack containing suspected cocaine and methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia. 

After being medically cleared, Baldwin was charged with multiple felonies, including unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon and narcotics dealing, and was booked into the Clark County Jail.
