Indiana Fugitive Captured in Kankakee Bus Station Chase

KANKAKEE, Ill. – Kankakee city police were on high alert Wednesday at approximately 4:30 PM when they converged on the bus station located on the 200 block of East Chestnut. 

Acting on a tip, officers approached 25-year-old Shelby D. Tippie of Kankakee, who was flagged for an outstanding Indiana warrant. Unable to provide ID and sensing the impending arrest, Tippie reportedly tried to make a run for it. However, after a brief foot chase, officers caught the woman. Along with the Indiana warrant, Tippie faces charges for possession of a controlled substance.
