Jasper County, IN – In a recent development, the Indiana State Police Lowell Post Criminal Investigation Division has apprehended Donavon A. Brewer, a 32-year-old resident of Merrillville, IN, in connection with an interstate shooting incident on I-65. The shooting, which occurred on March 28, 2024, resulted in serious injuries to a semi-driver. Brewer turned himself in on March 30th and now faces charges of attempted murder and criminal recklessness.
According to the Indiana State Police, the incident took place near the 224 mile-marker, close to the Roselawn/Demotte exit, and led to significant traffic disruptions as emergency services and investigators worked at the scene. The victim was airlifted to a hospital in Indianapolis with potential life-threatening injuries. The current health status of the victim has not been disclosed.
