CHICAGO — A dramatic turn of events in Chicago’s Albany Park neighborhood led to the arrest of an Indianapolis man Friday evening.

Gregory Mulkey, 33, from Indianapolis, is now facing multiple alleged felony charges, including aggravated battery and possession of a controlled substance.

Police reports indicate Mulkey allegedly shot a 20-year-old woman in the 3700 block of West Leland Avenue. The incident occurred just half an hour before his arrest. In addition to the felony counts, Mulkey is also facing misdemeanor charges due to his possession of a firearm without a valid FOID card.

The young woman’s condition remains unknown, but the arrest has brought some relief to the concerned residents of Albany Park.
