Columbus, IN – Authorities are appealing for help to identify a woman whose body was discovered in the East Fork of the White River in Bartholomew County. According to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, a kayaker found the body on a sandbar near the Water Street public access ramp in Columbus last Wednesday.
The deceased is described as a white female, aged in her late 40s to early 50s, about 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing approximately 135 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. She was wearing blue jeans, a blue jacket, and a T-shirt with the inscription “Las Vegas Nevada Athletic Dept.” Notably, she has two scars that could aid in her identification.
Indiana Conservation Officers and the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department are urging anyone who might recognize this description or knows of a person matching it who is missing to come forward.
