Olympia Fields, IL – The aftermath of a hit-and-run on I-80/94 spiraled into a high-stakes chase as Endris Thomas, 30, from Olympia Fields, Illinois, allegedly fled from law enforcement, pushing speeds over 100 mph in a severely damaged SUV. Indiana State Police detailed the incident, which concluded on Grant St. after Thomas reportedly crashed into three parked vehicles and attempted to flee on foot.
According to police reports the apprehension took a drastic turn when officers, in a bid to stop him, deployed a taser, causing Thomas to fall face-first onto the concrete. After receiving medical treatment for his injuries, he was jailed on multiple felony charges, including alleged unlawful possession and resisting law enforcement.
Officers later uncovered the chain of events kicked off with Thomas allegedly attempting to escape the repercussions of an earlier hit-and-run. Despite the high-speed pursuit, a female adult and an eight-year-old child who were in the SUV remained unharmed. Thomas faces further legal challenges in Cook County, IL, related to escape and non-compliance with electronic monitoring, while he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
