Jennings County, IN – A routine check on a stranded motorist by Indiana State Police resulted in the arrest of a Greenwood man on felony drug and weapons charges. The incident occurred early Sunday morning when Troopers Randal Miller and Tyler Busch noticed a black Ford SUV stalled on US 50 near North Vernon, partially obstructing traffic.
According to the Indiana State Police Versailles Post, the vehicle’s driver, identified as 33-year-old Christopher Spall, declined assistance but allegedly appeared to be involved in drug activity. A police K9 named Bosco was deployed and signaled the presence of drugs in the vehicle, leading to a search that uncovered approximately 23 grams of suspected methamphetamine, a loaded AR-15-style rifle, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
Spall faces charges including possession of methamphetamine with a firearm (Level 3 Felony), possession of a firearm by a felon with prior conviction (Level 5 Felony), possession of marijuana (Class B Misdemeanor), and possession of paraphernalia (Class C Misdemeanor), leading to his incarceration at the Jennings County Jail.
