Indiana State Police Seek Wanted Man in Child Molestation Case

PENDLETON DISPATCH – The Indiana State Police are urgently seeking the public’s assistance in locating a fugitive from the clutches of the law. 

Steve Sumner, the subject of an intense manhunt, is the target of active warrants related to a series of grave offenses. The police are urging citizens with any relevant information to come forward and aid in his swift apprehension.

Steve Sumner, known as Steven Craig Sumner, was born on July 1, 1968. A Caucasian male standing at 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 215 pounds, Sumner has distinct features with hazel eyes and brown hair. The charges against him are as serious as they come – Failure to Appear, Child Molestation, Rape, Sexual Misconduct with a Minor, Sexual Battery, and Child Sexual Abuse Material.

Authorities have made it clear that Sumner’s capture is of the utmost importance to ensure the safety of the community and prevent any further harm. The Indiana State Police Pendleton District has set up a dedicated hotline for tips related to his whereabouts: 1-800-527-4762.

Detective Klettheimer is leading the effort to track down Sumner and urges anyone who may have seen him or possesses any relevant information to call either 1-800-527-4762 or 1-765-778-2121. With the community’s cooperation, law enforcement hopes to expedite the search for this individual and bring him to justice.
