WATSEKA – The Iroquois County Board approved the purchase of a new building for Animal Control this week.

The building, formally the Watseka Animal Hospital located at 702 N Jefferson Street, was purchased due to the county getting “‘a good deal’ even though it’s located in an area prone to flooding.

Several board members addressed the history of flooding prior to the approval of the $60,000 purchase.

It’s estimated to be around $400,000 for a brand new building for the organization.
