Jasper County, IN – In an urgent response to a potential threat Wednesday, Kankakee Valley High School, in collaboration with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, initiated a lockdown across all Kankakee Valley Schools. The precautionary measure was taken following a notification from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office about a potential threat that was later investigated and deemed unfounded.

According to the informational release by the school and sheriff’s office, law enforcement and first responders swiftly took necessary actions to investigate the situation and confirm the safety of students, staff, and the community. Despite the threat being unsubstantiated, the school expressed understanding of the community’s anxiety and concern, emphasizing their commitment to safety and well-being.

As investigations into the initial potential threat continue, with law enforcement remaining on site, the school has reassured parents and students of ongoing safety measures and expressed gratitude towards first responders for their prompt response.
