Wheatfield, IN – A domestic disturbance call in the early hours of February 10th led Jasper County deputies to a Wheatfield residence, where a distressing scene unfolded involving an alleged assault in front of a child.
According to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, the incident involved Yovani Valencia Salvador, 25, from Wheatfield, Indiana, who is accused of choking a woman during a confrontation, with the alleged act occurring in the presence of her child.
The victim reported that Salvador, believed to be intoxicated at the time, applied pressure to her throat and attempted to seize her phone to prevent her from contacting emergency services.
Following the investigation, Salvador was apprehended and charged with Domestic Battery and Strangulation, both classified as Level 6 Felonies, alongside Interference with the Reporting of a Crime, a Class A Misdemeanor.
