Jasper County, Indiana: High Winds Cause Power Outages in Rensselaer

Rensselaer, IN – The City of Rensselaer was hit by power outages after strong winds affected the area.

The City of Rensselaer Electric Department has informed the public that a static wire lost north of town, combined with winds reaching speeds of up to 45 miles per hour on Monday, March 25, led to multiple power outages between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm CST.

The department has issued an apology for the inconvenience and assures residents that measures are being taken to reinforce the infrastructure against such weather-related incidents.
