Nashville, TN – The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department announced the arrest of 31-year-old Patrick G. Cathey, the suspected gunman in the February 14 murder of Steven Yates, aged 34, at a candle company located on Old Franklin Road, where Yates was an employee.

Detectives from the Specialized Investigations Division apprehended Cathey late Thursday afternoon in Coopertown, Robertson County. He is currently facing criminal homicide charges.

The investigation revealed that Yates was the target of a drug-related robbery. The fatal shooting occurred when he met with Cathey and co-defendant Nicole Tishma, 37, in the parking lot. Tishma was taken into custody on February 20 in Oak Grove, Kentucky, and is being held as a fugitive. Efforts to extradite her to Nashville to face criminal homicide charges are underway.
