Iowa City, IA – Multiple people were injured in an early morning shooting Sunday in Iowa City, prompting an active investigation and a call for public assistance from law enforcement.
According to Iowa City Public Safety, officers responded around 1:46 a.m. Sunday, April 19, 2026, to reports of a large fight in the 100 block of East College Street. When officers arrived, they reportedly heard gunfire in the area.
According to police, multiple victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment of injuries sustained during the shooting. Officials have not released information on the victims’ conditions at this time.
