Joliet, IL – Inmate Found Deceased at Will County Adult Detention Facility

Joliet, IL – The Will County Sheriff’s Office reported a tragic incident at the Adult Detention Facility (ADF) in Joliet, Illinois. An elderly inmate was found dead in his cell early this morning. 

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the inmate was last seen alive at around 10:30 PM on Thursday. The following morning, just before 7:00 AM, emergency personnel from the Joliet Fire Department and Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene. Initial findings suggest no foul play.

The Will/Grundy Major Crimes Task Force has been summoned to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation into the death. The deceased’s identity remains undisclosed pending family notification.
