Kankakee County Crash on Route 50 Leads to Hospitalization

Kankakee County, IL – A collision on Route 50 in Kankakee County resulted in one person being sent to the hospital on Thursday afternoon. 

According to Illinois State Police, the accident occurred just after 3:30 PM at the intersection of southbound Route 50 and East 12000 North Road. The sequence of events began when a pickup truck stopped to yield to a northbound car, adhering to traffic rules. However, in a sudden turn of events, the pickup was rear-ended by another car whose driver failed to halt in time. This impact resulted in minor injuries to the driver of the striking vehicle, necessitating hospital care. 

Remarkably, the pickup truck’s driver was unscathed, avoiding what could have been more severe consequences. No citations have been announced in the incident.
