Kankakee, IL – A grim discovery in Pembroke Township has ignited an intense investigation by local authorities.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Kankakee County Sheriff’s Department received a disturbing report of potential human remains found in the 2000 block of South 16000 East Road. The Kankakee County Coroner’s Office, upon arrival, collaborated with a board-certified Forensic Anthropologist from the University of Illinois, confirming the remains were indeed human. The incident, marked with an official time of death at 5:45 pm on March 6, 2024, has sent shockwaves through the community.
