Kankakee County, IL – Commuters are advised to exercise caution as Friday’s weather forecast anticipates slippery road conditions, with snow accumulations reaching up to 3 inches, especially south of the I-80 corridor.

According to the National Weather Service, snowfall will impact the area mainly this morning to afternoon, with poor travel conditions anticipated. Temperatures hovering below freezing point will contribute to slippery roads and reduced visibility. The Service advises drivers to prepare for slick travel in spots, slow down, and maintain a safe following distance.

Looking ahead, the weekend is set to be windy and chilly, followed by a promising warm-up early next week. Residents should stay informed and take necessary precautions while commuting.
