Kankakee, IL – Electrical Fire Causes Up to $15,000 in Damages, Displaces Seven

Kankakee, IL – An electrical fire caused by a faulty component in a heating and cooling unit resulted in seven people being displaced and an estimated $10,000 to $15,000 in damages. 

The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon at a property located at 479 N. Industrial Avenue. According to Kankakee Fire reports, the fire was discovered within a wall, but fortunately, no injuries were reported. The quick response from the fire department prevented any further damage and ensured the safety of the occupants.
