Kankakee, IL -The Kankakee County State’s Attorney’s Office is casting a wider net with the expansion of its Reel Justice Fishing Club, partnering with the Northern Illinois Anglers Association for the 2024 season. This joint venture promises to hook enthusiasts across the region with a full slate of events catering to various skills and community segments.
According to the recent announcement, the following is the detailed 2024 season schedule for the Reel Justice Fishing Club:
- May 8th: Bourbonnais Municipal Pond – “Cops ‘n Bobbers” focusing on all fish types.
- May 22nd: Bird Park Quarry (898 W. Station, K3) – “Special Needs Day” with member volunteers.
- June 5th: Munjoy Ponds (1199 Cecil, Limestone) – Concentrating on bass, gills, and catfish using lures and live baits.
- June 19th: Azzarelli Pond (5197 W. IL-17, Kankakee) – “Live Baits & Top Lures” day.
- July 2nd: Manteno Veterans Home (12pm-3pm) – A BBQ & Fishing event with our veterans.
- July 10th: Turnberry Ponds (Turnberry Subdivision, Bourbonnais) – Targeting bass, gills, and carp.
- July 24th: St. Anne Ponds (N end of 2nd Ave, St Anne) – Focusing on crappie & gills with live bait.
- August 7th: Bonfield Ponds (144 N. East, Bonfield) – Aiming for bass, gills, and catfish.
- August 14th: Bird Park Quarry (898 W. Station, K3) – The season culminates with a “Ceremony & Cookout”.
