Kankakee, IL – A police chase involving a stolen vehicle ended in a crash on Waldron Road this Tuesday afternoon.
According to authorities, two juveniles and a woman were in the vehicle when it veered into a ditch, concluding the high-speed pursuit. Witnesses at the scene described the dramatic finale of the chase, which began when the suspects, driving the allegedly stolen car, failed to stop for law enforcement. During the pursuit, the vehicle collided with a squad car. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported in the incident.
The woman was later released after authorities verified that she was merely a passenger. The two juveniles, who are not local to the immediate area, have been detained. Investigations are ongoing as the Sheriff’s Department continues to piece together the events leading to the chase and crash.
