Kankakee, IL – Woman’s SUV Stolen, Found Abandoned in Lake Village, Indiana

Kankakee, IL – In a startling turn of events early Thursday morning, a woman found her red 2022 Hyundai Venue SUV missing after briefly leaving it running to enter a store on the 100 block of S. Bradley Boulevard in Kankakee, Illinois. 

According to local police reports, surveillance footage captured an unidentified individual taking the vehicle and fleeing south on Bradley Boulevard. The stolen SUV was later discovered abandoned in Lake Village, Indiana. Despite the recovery of the vehicle, no arrests have been made in connection with the theft. 

The incident has prompted an investigation by the Tri-County Auto Task Force, signaling a heightened effort to address auto theft in the region.
