Joliet, IL – The Will County Board has scheduled an urgent Special Meeting for March 5th, 2024, with a critical agenda to halt the progress of the 143rd Street Expansion Road Project as it is presently outlined.

The meeting follows the signing of Resolution 24-27 by the Will County Executive, which initially directed the cessation of the project’s current trajectory. Despite the resolution’s initial approval and enactment, subsequent actions by the County Executive have prompted the board to reassess the situation.

Chairman Judy Ogalla of the Will County Board emphasizes the importance of this meeting as a step to preserve the procedural integrity of county operations. The board’s decision to convene underscores their commitment to considerate planning and community interests concerning the development of this significant transportation project.
