Kankakee, Illinois – Three Kankakee residents were involved in a fatal car crash that occurred on March 7, 2023 in Will County. The victims have been identified as Andrew J. Adams, 47, and his son, Andrew D. Adams, 30, both of whom were in a 1999 Silver Chevrolet S10. The third victim, a 21-year-old male, was the driver of a 2020 Blue Toyota Camry. He was also from Kankakee and sustained injuries from the crash.
According to the Illinois State Police Troop 3, the incident occurred at around 5:10 a.m. at Illinois Route 113 and Irish Lane in Custer Park. The preliminary investigation shows that the Toyota Camry was traveling southbound when it entered the northbound lane and collided head-on with the Chevrolet S10. Both vehicles caught fire after the collision.
Adams, the driver of the Chevrolet S10, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the passenger was transported to an area hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Toyota Camry, a 30-year-old male, who has yet to be identified, sustained injuries and was also transported to an area hospital.
The Illinois State Police is investigating the incident, and the cause of the crash is still under investigation. The autopsy was performed, and the final cause and manner of death is pending at this time.
