Kankakee, Will Counties Brace for Potential Low-Lying Flooding This Evening

Kankakee, IL – Kankakee and Will counties are bracing for potential flooding this evening as heavy showers move through the region. The National Weather Service has issued a warning for locally heavy rainfall that could lead to ponding on roads and flooding in low-lying areas.

According to the National Weather Service, the showers are expected to shift east towards the I-55 corridor and may produce isolated lightning strikes. Residents are advised to avoid flooded roads and paths and to move indoors if thunder is heard. The warning remains in effect until 8 PM CDT.
