The following is a message from the Bourbonnais Fire Department:

The Bourbonnais Fire Protection District has taken the following steps to protect our firefighters, paramedics and the community from the ongoing risk of COVID-19 virus.  Following guidance from the CDC, both area hospitals and the Kankakee County Health Department the following measures are now in place to protect the community at large.

You may see our personnel responding to your emergency wearing a respirator mask with eye protection, a disposable gown and gloves.  These measures will be in place based on the caller information received by the 911 center.  We want to make sure we protect both you the patient and our personnel from this virus.

We enjoy giving tours of our fire station.  Due to a confirmed case of the COVID-19 virus in Kankakee County, we must discontinue allowing visitors inside our fire station until further notice.  Once the threat of the COVID-19 virus is over we will allow tours of our fire station.

If you have an emergency we recommend calling 9-1-1, but, if you need to come to the station, please come to the front door and ring the buzzer, a paramedic will greet you and provide assistance as needed.

We appreciate your understanding of the need to keep our crew as safe as possible so we can continue serve the residents of the Bourbonnais Fire Protection District.
