Kenosha, WI – A  Kenosha Sheriff’s Department squad car was struck head-on while deputies managed a separate roadside crash this past Saturday night.

The incident, which occurred when a driver crossed into the opposing lane, fortuitously resulted in no injuries. The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department has since used their social media platform to underscore the importance of Wisconsin’s #MoveOverLaw.

The Deputy, engaged in investigating the initial incident, narrowly escaped injury thanks to the squad car’s positioning, which also protected a WE Energies worker on the scene. The department’s Facebook post vividly illustrated the crash’s aftermath and the vital role of the #MoveOverLaw in safeguarding emergency responders and service workers during such vulnerable moments.

Local authorities are urging motorists to adhere to the law, which requires drivers to slow down or change lanes when approaching stationary vehicles with flashing lights.
