Lake County, IN – I-65 Northbound is closed Friday morning after a semi jackknife on the roadway.

According to the Indiana Department of Transportation Northwest, all lanes of northbound I-65 in Lake County are closed at mile marker 259, situated north of Ridge Road and south of I-94, as a result of the jackknifed semi-truck. Currently, traffic is passing on the right shoulder only.

This incident comes as the region grapples with snowy conditions from overnight lake-effect snow, causing treacherous driving conditions. Motorists are advised to leave early, drive cautiously, and check the latest road conditions at 511in.org. The INDOT urges travelers to stay informed and exercise extreme caution while emergency services work to clear the roadway.
