LaPorte County, IN – In a critical traffic update, the Indiana State Police Lowell Post has alerted the public about perilous conditions on Interstate 94 in LaPorte County.

The heavy lake effect snow has not only brought traffic to a halt but has also led to snow plows getting stuck in the miles-long congestion. This has created a dangerous situation for both motorists and road crews.

Troopers are struggling to reach those in need of assistance due to the severe backups. The police are urging residents to delay travel plans until after the lake effect snow has subsided and the roads can be safely cleared.

The ongoing efforts to manage this emergency underscore the risks of traveling under such extreme weather conditions. Authorities are continuously monitoring the situation to ensure public safety and to restore normal traffic as soon as possible.
