Law Enforcement Torch Run Heats Up Bourbonnais Police pass the torch June 7

BOURBONNAIS, IL – The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois will pass through Kankakee County today. 

Bourbonnais Police will become the “Guardians of the Flame” as they receive the Flame of Hope at 1:00 p.m. in Manteno. 

They will then run southbound on N. Convent St. (Route 45/52), joined by additional runners and cyclists. The torch will reach Olivet Nazarene University ROTC building around 3:00 p.m., before being handed over to Kankakee officers. 

The run covers 1,500 miles, with 3,000 officers participating, and raises funds for the Special Olympics Illinois Summer Games. Spectators are welcome to cheer along the route.
