Lemont, IL – A significant blaze erupted at Reed’s Automotive Enterprises, located at 926 Main Street, Lemont, in the early hours of Tuesday morning. The Lemont Fire District, along with several neighboring fire departments, battled the fire, which required firefighters to forcibly enter the premises.
According to the Lemont Fire District, the incident occurred early Tuesday morning. Firefighters had to cut through the garage door to ventilate the building due to a spike in temperature caused by the fire.
It’s unclear how much damage was caused by the blaze. The response included teams from Homer Fire, Palos Fire Protection District, Darien-Woodridge Fire, Tri-State Fire Protection District, Orland Fire, and Romeoville Fire.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
