Lemont, IL – The Lemont Fire Protection District (LFPD) is proactively addressing increased emergency call volumes and response times by seeking community input through their Minutes Matter initiative this April. Residents are invited to participate in open houses to discuss potential solutions, including the strategic relocation of fire stations.
According to LFPD Chief Dan Tasso, timely arrival on emergency scenes is critical, with the current response time sometimes reaching eight minutes. Community feedback is crucial as the district considers restructuring to meet its commitment to public safety. The open houses will provide residents the chance to learn more, tour the fire stations, and share their views on how to enhance the district’s emergency services.
