Lisle, IL – Gamers and esports enthusiasts, get ready for the inaugural Midwest Esports Invitational in Lisle.
Taking place February 23-25, 2024, the event promises an electrifying weekend of competitive gaming. Hosted by the DuPage Sports Commission and Scrims Esports Gaming Center, the event will be held at both the Hyatt Regency Lisle and the Scrims Esports Gaming Center.
According to event organizers, the invitational will feature top collegiate esports teams from across the United States competing in Overwatch 2, Valorant, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournaments. The Overwatch 2 and Valorant tournaments, each with a prize pool of $2,000, will be held at Scrims Esports Gaming Center. Meanwhile, the Super Smash Bros Ultimate tournament, boasting a $3,000 prize pool, will take place at the Hyatt Regency Lisle near Naperville.
Additionally, an open Super Smash Bros Ultimate tournament with a 256-player capacity and a $3,000 prize pool will occur concurrently. No on-site cash transactions will be accepted, and registrations, as well as payments, are due an hour before each event starts.
Spectator passes are available for purchase, offering access to both tournament locations, free play areas, a “Fan Village” with esports vendors and merchandise, and complimentary parking. The total prize pool for the event amounts to $10,000, with winners receiving their payouts via mailed checks within 30 days.
