Cleveland Unsolved Cases: Rewards Offered for Information on 2018, 2019 Homicides

Cleveland, OH – Authorities are renewing calls for information regarding two unsolved homicides. 

According to the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office, two men, Johnshae Boyd in 2019 and Jerbrel McVery in 2018, were tragically shot and killed in separate incidents, both of which have remained unsolved.

On the evening of September 16, 2019, Boyd was visiting a friend at an apartment in the 1400 block of East Blvd. Tragedy struck when he was shot upon leaving the premises. In a similar plea, authorities are looking for leads in the case of McVery, who was killed on April 12, 2018, after leaving a community center on Jelliffe Avenue.

The Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with Crime Stoppers of Cuyahoga County, Inc., is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for details that could lead to an arrest in each case. 

The public is encouraged to come forward with any potentially helpful information and can contact Detective Powell at (216) 623-6207 or Crime Stoppers directly at 216-252-7463. Tips can also be submitted online through the Crime Stoppers website, enhancing accessibility for those who wish to help.
